Michael Myers is a fictional character from the Halloween franchise, primarily known for his role as a silent, relentless masked killer. He first appeared in John Carpenter's 1978 film, Halloween.

As a child in Haddonfield, Illinois, six-year-old Michael murders his older sister, Judith, on Halloween night. He is subsequently institutionalized in Smith's Grove Sanitarium under the care of Dr. Sam Loomis, who becomes convinced that Michael embodies pure evil.

Fifteen years later, Michael escapes from the sanitarium and returns to Haddonfield. On Halloween night, he stalks and murders teenagers, with his primary target being Laurie Strode, who is revealed in some continuities to be his sister. He is often portrayed as an unstoppable force, possessing superhuman strength and a near-invulnerability that makes him difficult to kill.

Michael's signature look includes a pale, expressionless mask (originally a modified William Shatner mask), a dark blue jumpsuit, and a large butcher knife. His motivations, beyond a primal urge to kill, remain largely ambiguous, contributing to his terrifying mystique.
